ELIGIBILITY: Open to
any NPC athlete. (2003 NPC cards will be available for $60.)
Teenage competitors must not have exceeded 19 years
of age the day of the contest. Masters competitors
must have reached the age of 35 ,40 or 45 the day of the contest.
Proof of age required. Novice competitors are eligible
only if they have never placed 1st-3rd in an open class or
1st place Novice Division in any NPC sanctioned event.
Wheelchair division athletes must be prepared to provide
a letter from their doctor describing level of physical disablity.
Contestants may enter more than one division, however,
athletes will only pose once at the evening competition.
AWARDS: Men's/Women's
Open: 1st-5th in each weight class. Teenage, Wheelchair Division,
Women's Masters, MEN'S Masters 35-40, 40-45, 45+: 1st-5th
one class each. Novice 1st-3rd in each weight class. (Novice
class must have a minimum of3 entrants prior to October 15th
or entrants will be moved to next appropriate class.)
Mixed Pairs 1st - 3rd one class. (Mixed Pairs must have 2
Pairs by Oct. 15th or class cancelled.) A Team Trophy will
be awarded to the highest scoring team. ($20 fee per team
is required.)

RULES: This contest is
NPC sanctioned and will run in accordance with the most recent
NPC rules and procedures. As always, it is a requirement that all
competitors weigh-in in a posing suit. All decisions are
final. MUSIC: Contestants will use their own music for the
finals, prerecorded on a quality cassette tape and CUED TO YOUR
STARTING POINT. BRING TAPE TO CHECK-IN! Time Limit: 60 sec.

WILL BE ALLOWED BACKSTAGE---HELP WILL BE PROVIDED.

evening presentation begins at 6pm

2003 NPC CAROL SEMPLE WOMEN'S FITNESS CLASSIC
GENERAL CONTEST INFORMATION
- Each contestant must be a current member
of the NPC, (2003 NPC cards will be available for $60)
- Entry Fee: $50 if postmarked by Oct. 15,
2003. $60 for entries postmarked after Oct. 15, 2003.

- Contestants must wear high heels in the swimsuit
rounds and tennis/athletic shoes in the fitness round. Jewelry
may be worn in the swimsuit rounds.
- Thong swimsuits will not be allowed. Tights
must be worn under thong in fitness round.
- Exhibition of poor sportsmanship will be
grounds for automatic disqualification.
- Due to limited backstage area and for the
competitors safety, NO assistant or trainer will be permitted
backstage.
- Contestants must be able to carry their own
props to and from the stage.
- Contestant check-in: FRIDAY,
6-8 p.m. at the Host Hotel, Prejudging meeting Saturday
at 8:00 am at the Denver Auditorium Theater, Prejudging begins
SATURDAY at 10:00am.
PUBLICITY AND AWARDS: The top 5 winners
in each height class( 5'3" and under, over 53" - 5'5" ,over
5'5") will be nationally qualified, and will receive Neils Anderson
Fitness Sculptures. No money prizes may be given at the amateur
level. Many of the Regional events will be featured on FOX Sports.
The top 6 contestants, (2 in eachof the 3 height classes), at the
USA and Nationals and class winners at theTeam Universe will be eligible
to turn professional in the IFBB. The winner of Nationals will
be invited to compete at the Fitness Ms. OlympiaContest.
JUDGING PROCEDURES:
ROUND 1/SWIMSUIT
The contestants will be brought out in 1 or
2 lines for the quarter turns. (Do not twist-look straight
ahead.) The judges will be scoring the physique by assessing
overall muscle tone with shapely lines, overall firmness and
a small degree of muscularity with separation, no visible striations
and no excessive leanness along with a full general assessment
including healthy appearance, face, makeup and skin tone.
ROUND 2/ FITNESS
Each athlete will perform a maximum 2 minute
routine. There are 6 mandatory movements in the pro-qualifiers,
(USA,TeamU,Nat'ls.), but not required in this show: One
Arm Pushup, Straddle Hold, Leg Extension Hold, Full Split-Front,
Full Split-Side, and High Kick. (Please refer to photos

) Judges will be looking for strength and flexibility moves,
style, personality and overall presentation and showmanship.
Strength andflexibility moves will be judged on the number, degree
of difficulty andthe creativity in performing the moves.
Contestants should give specialattention to their apparel
since it too will be judged. Routines mayinclude aerobics, dance
gymnastics or other demonstrations of athletictalent and strength.
Props are allowed but must be approved by promoterin advance.
ROUND 3/FINAL ASSESSMENT
The Athlete will be brought back out in their
original line in a 1-PIECE SWIMSUIT. At this time judges
may ask for certain contestants to be placed next to other contestants.
Then the quarter turns will be directed so the judges can make any
final comparisons they wish.
SCORING
Each round is judged separately, and scores
are turned in after each round.
EVENING PERFORMANCE
All contestants will be introduced at the evening
event in their swimsuits. All athletes will perform their fitness
routineat the evening finals.

CLASSIC
GENERAL CONTEST INFORMATION:
Same as Women's Fitness BUT 4 HEIGHT CLASSES, (
under 5'2", 5'2" - 5'3", 5'3" - 5'5" ,over 5'5"),
minus "ROUND 2/FITNESS."
3 Classes of Novice FIGURE competitors,
(Same as Fitness above), are eligible only if they have never placed
1st-3rd in an Open Figure class or 1st place Novice
FIGURE class in any NPC sanctioned event. (Novice winners
do not compete for the overall title.)
