ELIGIBILITY: Open to any NPC athlete.  (2003 NPC cards will be available for $60.)  Teenage competitors must not have exceeded 19 years of age the day of the contest.  Masters competitors must have reached the age of 35,40 or 50 the day of the contest.  Proof of  age required.  Novice competitors are eligible only if  theyhave never placed 1st-3rd in an open class or 1st place Novice Division in any NPC sanctioned national qualifier event.  Contestants may enter more than one division,  however, athletes  will only pose once at the evening competition.   Midwest Armed Forces entrants must prove current or past military service to be elibible. 

AWARDS: Men's/Women's Open:  1st-5th in each weight class.   Teenage, Novice and Masters: 1st-5th in each class.  (Men's Novice class must have a minimum of 3 entrants prior to July 24 or number of classes reduced.) A Team Trophy will be awarded to the highest  scoring team. ($20 fee per team is required.) Overall Southern CO Men's and Women's Champions, Men's and Women's Masters Champions and Overall Armed Forces Men's Champion  receive SWORDS!!   Armed Forces:  Open class for Men--three weight classes, 1st - 5th in each weight class, and  one Open class for women with no weight divisions, 1st - 5th.

TESTING PROCEDURE : As a condition of acceptance into this event, each contestant must pass a thorough 45-minute polygraph examination proving that he/she has not engaged in the use of anabolic steroids and agents, clenbuterol, peptide hormones or non-over-the counter diuretics at any time during the preceding 24 CALENDAR MONTHS. Upon receipt of entry form and fee, the contestant will be notified where to go in Denver or Colorado Springs for polygraph testing. The testing center will attempt to accommodate each contestant's schedule. There will not be any additional charge to the contestant for the test

RULES: This contest is NPC sanctioned and will run in accordance with the most recent NPC rules and procedures. All decisions are final. MUSIC: Contestants will use their own music for the finals, prerecorded on a quality cassette tape and CUED TO YOUR STARTING POINT. BRING TAPE TO CHECK-IN! Time Limit: 60sec.  Must weigh in wearing posing suit.

SCHEDULE: Check-in/ Weigh-in will be at 8:30 am and prejudging begins at 10 :30am. Evening check-in will be at 5:00 pm, Evening presentation begins at 6pm

2003 NPC SOUTHERN COLORADO WOMEN'S FIGURE CHAMPIONSHIPS

GENERAL CONTEST INFORMATION

  • Each contestant must be a current memberof the NPC, (2003 NPC cards will be available for $60).
  • Entry Fee: $40 if postmarked by July 9, 2003. $50 for entries postmarked after July 9, 2003. (Complete the entryform BELOW.)
  • Contestants must wear high heels inthe swimsuit rounds  Jewelry may be worn in the swimsuit rounds.
  • Thong swimsuits will not be allowed.
  • Exhibition of poor sportsmanship will be grounds for automatic disqualification.
  • Due to limited backstage area and for the competitors safety, only one assistant or trainer will be permitted backstage, and they must purchase a ticket as any other spectator. (Competitors do not need a ticket)
  • Contestant check-in: 8:30am, Prejudgingbegins at 10:30am.
PUBLICITY AND AWARDS The Figure winner will be nationally qualified, and the top five winners will receive Niels AndersonFigure Sculptures. No money prizes may be given at the amateur level. All of the national events will be featured on FOXSports. The National FIGURE Championships will be in NY along with the NPC TEAM UNIVERSE.
JUDGING PROCEDURES:
ROUND 1/SWIMSUIT
The contestants will be brought out in 1 or 2 lines for the quarter turns. (Do not twist-look straight ahead.)The judges will be scoring the physique by assessing overall muscle tonewith shapely lines, overall firmness and a small degree of muscularitywith separation, no visible striations and no excessive leanness along with a full general assessment including healthy appearance, face, makeup and skin tone.
ROUND 2/ FINAL ASSESSMENT
The Athlete will be brought back outin their original line in a 1-PIECE SWIMSUIT. At this time judges may ask for certain contestants to be placed next to other contestants.Then the quarter turns will be directed so the judges can make any final comparisons they wish.
SCORING
Each round is judged separately, and scores are turned in after each round.
EVENING PERFORMANCE
All contestants will be introduced at the evening event in their two-piece suits
