THE 2004 NPC CARLA SANCHEZ FITNESS

RULES: This contest is NPC sanctioned
and will run in accordance with the most recent NPC rules and
procedures. All decisions are final. All Fitness &
Figure competitors must bring their competition suits to check-in
for approval. MEN'S FITNESS CONTEST DETAILS AWARDS: 5 places will be awarded. MUSIC, BACKSTAGE, SCHEDULE, ENTRY FEE: same as above. COMPETITION ROUNDS & RULES ROUND 1/ PHYSIQUE: Contestants are to wear either runner or biker shorts, (but no posing suits), along with athletic shoes and socks. All contestants will be brought out in a line-up and asked to execute four, quarter turns to the right. The judges will be assessing overall symmetry, proportion, firmness and physical appearance including complexion, skin tone, poise,and presentation that best shows an athletic physique. ROUND 2/ FITNESS ROUTINE: Each contestant will perform a Fitness Routine to music they select for a maximum of 2 minutes. Routines may include strength moves, (i.e. push-ups, situps, jumping jacks, high kicks, etc.), aerobics, martial arts, gymnastics, dance or oither demonstrations of athletic talent. There are no required movements. (You do not have to be a gymnast to do well in this round.) The judges will be looking for strength, flexibility, cardiovascular conditioning, style, personality, coordination and overall performance. The judges will be looking for a well rounded routine, not just one focused on one aspect of fitness. Due to the danger of slippage, no body oil is allowed. The contestants should give special attendtion to their fitness outfit, as it will be judged as well. Athletic shoes are required during this round. Props are allowed, but contestant must be able to carry them on and off the stage. See the IFBB Rules for more details on Men's Fitness WOMEN'S FITNESS & FIGURE* CONTEST DETAILS
NOTE: Three, (3), height classes in FIGURE NOVICE are the same as the three for FITNESS, and the top 5 will receive Neils Anderson Figure Sculptures. Novice Figure competitors are eligible only if they have never placed 1st-3rd in an open class or 1 st place Novice Division in any NPC sanctioned Open Figure competition. No money prizes may be given at the amateur level. The top 6 FITNESS contestants, (2 in each of the 3 height classes), at the USA and Nationals and the classwinners at the Team Universe will be eligible to turn professional in the IFBB. The winner of Nationals will be invited to compete at the FitnessMs. Olympia Contest.The National FIGURE Championships will be in NY along with the NPC TEAM UNIVERSE where the top 2 in each height class and the Jr.USA overall winner and Jr.Nationals class winners will receive their IFBB Pro Cards. . JUDGING PROCEDURES: ROUND 1/SWIMSUIT The contestants will be brought ou tin 1 or 2 lines for the quarter turns in a 2-PIECE SWIMSUIT. (Do not twist-look straight ahead.)The judges will be scoring the physique by assessing overall muscle tone with shapely lines, overall firmness and a small degree of muscularitywith separation, no visible striations and no excessive leanness along with a full general assessment including healthy appearance, face, makeup and skin tone. ROUND 2/ FITNESS Each athlete will perform a maximum 2 minute routine. Judges will be looking for strength and flexibility moves, style, personality and overall presentation and showmanship. Strengthand flexibility moves will be judged on the number, degree of difficulty and the creativity in performing the moves. Contestants should give special attentionto their apparel since it too will be judged. Routines may include aerobics,dance gymnastics or other demonstrations of athletic talent and strength--there are no required moves except at the national events, but are strongly recommended. Props are allowed but must be approved by promoter in advance. ROUND 3/FINAL ASSESSMENT The Athlete will be brought back outin their original line in a 1-PIECE SWIMSUIT. At this time judgesmay ask for certain contestants to be placed next to other contestants.Then the quarter turns will be directed so the judges can make any finalcomparisons they wish. SCORING Each round is judged separately, andscores are turned in after each round. EVENING PERFORMANCE All contestants will be introducedat the evening event in their swimsuits. All athletes will perform theirfitness routine at the evening finals. *NOTE: JUNIOR FITNESS CHAMPIONSHIPS--Rules are the same as Women's Fitness minus "ROUNDS 1 AND 3/ SWIMSUIT ROUNDS," FITNESS ROUTINE ONLY! Cost to enter Jr.Fitness: $20. *NOTE: WOMEN'S FIGURE CHAMPIONSHIPS----Rules are the same as Women's Fitness minus "ROUND 2/ FITNESS." PLANET MUSCLE MAGAZINE MEN'S AND WOMEN'S FITNESS MODEL SEARCH DETAILS AWARDS: Top male and female winners will be awarded an exclusive photo shoot with top industry photographer, Terry Goodlad, on Sunday, the day after the contest, and will be featured in a PLANET MUSCLE publication, as well as on Bodysport.com, one of the world's leading fitness, figure and bodybuilding websites. Hair and make-up courtesy of top IFBB Pro Figure competitor and leading make-up artist, Elaine Goodlad. ENTRY FEE: $40 JUDGING PROCEDURES: • Contestants will be introduced in swimwear of their choice [NO THONGS!] performing standard model turns. • Men must be barefoot. • Women must wear heels. • The contestants will be judged by a panel of celebrity judges. • The judges will be looking for the male and female that best portrays the look of health, fitness, beauty, sex-appeal and poise.
