RULES: This contest is NPC sanctioned and will run
in accordance with the most recent NPC rules and procedures. All
decisions are final.
MUSIC: Contestants
will use their own music for the finals, prerecorded on a quality
cassette tape and CUEDTO YOUR STARTING POINT. BRING TAPE
TO CHECK-IN! Time Limit: 60 sec.
BACKSTAGE:
Due to limited backstage area and
competitor safety, NO ASSISTANTS OR TRAINERS WILL BE ALLOWED
BACKSTAGE. Assistance will be provided.
SCHEDULE: Check-in & Weigh-in FRIDAY, JULY 12TH
6-8 p.m., at the Host Hotel--the RED LION at I-25 at Mile High
Stadium Invesco Field, SATURDAY Meeting at the Paramount Theater
at 8:30am, Prejudging at 10:30am, Evening check-in at 5pm and
Finalsat 6pm.
ENTRY FEE:
Entries postmarked prior to June 29, $40 per division. Entries
received after June 29, $50per division.

WOMEN'S FITNESS & FIGURE* CHAMPIONSHIPS
GENERAL CONTEST INFORMATION
-
Each contestant must be a current memberof the NPC, (2002
NPC cards will be available for $55)
- Each
contestant must be a Colorado resident and provide proof
of COLORADO residency for FOUR(4) months---Bring a PHONE,
UTILITY, OR INSURANCE BILL IF WE NEED TO SEE ANOTHER PROOF
OF RESIDENCY BESIDES DRIVERS LICENSE.

Entry Fee: $40 if received by June 29, 2002. $50 for entries
mailed after June 29, 2002. (Complete the entry form BELOW.)

Contestants must wear high heels in the swimsuit rounds and
tennis/athletic shoes in the fitness round. Jewelry may be
worn in the swimsuit rounds.

Thong swimsuits will not be allowed. Tights must be worn under
thong in fitness round.

Exhibition of poor sportsmanship will be grounds for automatic
disqualification.

Due to limited backstage area and competitor safety, NO
assistants or trainers will be permitted backstage . Assistance
will be provided.

Fitness contestants must be able to carry their own props
to and from the stage.
- Contestant
check-in: FRIDAY 6-8 P.M. AT THE HOST HOTEL--THE RED LION
ON I-25 BY MILE HIGH INVESCO FIELD. Saturday meeting
at the Paramount Theater: 8:30a.m., Prejudging begins
at 10:30a.m.
PUBLICITY AND AWARDS: The top 2 winners in each of
the two height classes for FITNESS, ( 5'3" and under, and
over 5'3"), and the top 2 winners in each of the three height
classses for FIGURE , (5'3" and under, over 5'3" - 5'5 1/2"
and over 5'5 1/2"), will be nationally qualified, and will
receive Neils AndersonFitness/Figure Sculptures. No money prizes
may be givenat the amateur level. All of the national events will
be featured on FOXSports. The top 6 FITNESS contestants, ( 2 in
each of the 3 height classes), at the USA and Nationals
and the classwinners at the Team Universe will be eligible to
turn professional in theIFBB. The winner of Nationals will be
invited to compete at the FitnessMs. Olympia Contest.The National
FIGURE Championships will be in NY along with the NPC TEAM UNIVERSE.
JUDGING PROCEDURES:
ROUND 1/SWIMSUIT
The contestants will be brought outin 1 or 2 lines
for the quarter turns. (Do not twist-look straight ahead.)The
judges will be scoring the physique by assessing overall muscle
tonewith shapely lines, overall firmness and a small degree of
muscularitywith separation, no visible striations and no excessive
leanness along with a full general assessment including healthy
appearance, face, makeup and skin tone.
ROUND 2/ FITNESS
Each athlete will perform a maximum 2 minute routine.
Judges will be looking for strength and flexibility moves, style,
personality and overall presentation and showmanship. Strengthand
flexibility moves will be judged on the number, degree of difficulty
and the creativity in performing the moves. Contestants should
give special attentionto their apparel since it too will be judged.
Routines may include aerobics,dance gymnastics or other demonstrations
of athletic talent and strength--there are no required moves except
at the national events, but are strongly recommended. Props are
allowed but must be approved by promoter in advance.
ROUND 3/FINAL ASSESSMENT
The Athlete will be brought back outin their original
line in a 1-PIECE SWIMSUIT. At this time judgesmay ask
for certain contestants to be placed next to other contestants.Then
the quarter turns will be directed so the judges can make any
finalcomparisons they wish.
SCORING
Each round is judged separately, andscores are
turned in after each round.
EVENING PERFORMANCE
All contestants will be introducedat the evening
event in their swimsuits. All athletes will perform theirfitness
routine at the evening finals.

are the same as Women's Fitness minus "ROUND 2/FITNESS"
