TIME: (Check-In at host hotel at 6p.m.Friday, June 25th), Saturday Prejudging FITNESS/FIGURE 9:00 am and BODYBUILDING 11:00 am, Finals
FITNESS/FIGUR 5:00 pm, BODYBUILDING 7 pm.

ELIGIBILITY: Open to any NPC athlete. (2004 NPC cards will be available for $60.) Teenage competitors must not have exceeded 19 years of age the day of the contest.Masters competitors must have reached he age of 35/40/45 the day of the contest.Proof of age required. Novice competitors are eligible only if they have never placed 1st-3rd in an open class or 1 st place Novice Division in any NPC sanctioned national qualifier event. Contestants may enter more than one division, however, athletes will only pose once at the evening competition.  To be eligible to compete in this contest, you MUST provide proof of COLORADO residency for FOUR(4) MONTHS----Bring a PHONE, UTILITY, OR INSURANCE BILL IF WE NEED TO SEE ANOTHER PROOF OF RESIDENCY BESIDES DRIVERS LICENSE.

AWARDS :Men's/Women's Open: 1st-5th in each weight class. Teenage, Novice and Masters, Men's Masters 35-40, 40-45, 45 and over: 1st -5th one class each. (Novice class must have a minimum of 3 entrants in each class by June 15 or number of classes reduced.) A Team Trophy will be awarded to the highest scoring team. ($20 fee per team is required.) Overall Men's and Women's Bodybuilding Champions receive Josten's 10K Gold State Champion Ring!

RULES: This contest is NPC sanctioned and will run in accordance with the most recent NPC rules and procedures. All decisions are final.  All bodybuilding competitors must weigh-in wearing their posing suit.
MUSIC: Contestants will use their own music WITH NO VULGARITY for the finals, prerecorded on a quality cassette tape OR CD--ONLY A CD-R WITH 60 SEC. POSING SONG CUSTOM BURNED ALLOWED and CUEDTO YOUR STARTING POINT. BRING TAPE/CD TO SATURDAY 10.00 A.M. CHECK-IN! Time Limit: 60 sec.
BACKSTAGE:   Due to limited backstage area and competitor safety, NO ASSISTANTS OR TRAINERS WILL BE ALLOWED BACKSTAGE.   Assistance will be provided.
SCHEDULE: NEW: Check-in & Weigh-in FRIDAY, JUNE 25TH 6-8 p.m., AND REQUIRED PREJUDGING BODYBUILDING MEETING AT 8 P.M. at the Host Hotel--Holiday Inn, 1450 Glenarm Pl., SATURDAY Meeting to get #'s/ tapes/cds at the Paramount Theater at 10:00am, Prejudging at 11:00am, Evening check-in at 5pm and Finals at 7pm.

WOMEN'S FITNESS & FIGURE* CHAMPIONSHIPS

 

GENERAL CONTEST INFORMATION

  • Each contestant must be a current memberof the NPC, (2004 NPC cards will be available for $60)
  • Each contestant must be a Colorado resident and provide proof of COLORADO residency for FOUR(4) months---Bring a PHONE, UTILITY, OR INSURANCE BILL IF WE NEED TO SEE ANOTHER  PROOF OF RESIDENCY BESIDES DRIVERS LICENSE.
  • Entry Fee: $50 if postmarked by June 15, 2004. $60 for entries postmarked after June 15, 2004. (Complete the entry form BELOW.)
  • Contestants must wear high heels in the swimsuit rounds and tennis/athletic shoes in the fitness round. Jewelry may be worn in the swimsuit rounds.
  • Thong swimsuits will not be allowed. Tights must be worn under thong in fitness round. MUST BRING SUITS TO FRIDAY CHECK-IN.
  • Exhibition of poor sportsmanship will be grounds for automatic disqualification.
  • Due to limited backstage area and competitor safety, NO assistants or trainers will be permitted backstage . Assistance will be provided.
  • Fitness contestants must be able to carry their own props to and from the stage.
  • Contestant check-in: FRIDAY 6-8 P.M. AT THE HOST HOTEL--HOLIDAY INN, 1450 Glenarm Pl.  Saturday meeting at the Paramount Theater:  8:00a.m., Prejudging begins at 9:00a.m.
PUBLICITY AND AWARDS: The top 2 winners in each of the two height classes for FITNESS, ( 5'4" and under, and over 5'4"), and the top 2 winners in each of the four height classses for FIGURE , (5'2" and under, over 5'2" - 5'-4", over 5'4" - 5'6" and over 5'6"), will be nationally qualified,  and top 5 in each class will receive Neils AndersonFitness/Figure Sculptures. No money prizes may be givenat the amateur level.(Competing for cash prizes nullifies amateur status in the NPC.) The top 6 FITNESS contestants, ( 2 in each of the 3 height classes),  at the USA and Nationals and the classwinners at the Team Universe will be eligible to turn professional in the IFBB. The winner of Nationals will be invited to compete at the FitnessMs. Olympia Contest. FIGURE: Overall Jr.USA winner, Class winners at the Jr.Nationals and top 3 in each of the four height classes at the National FIGURE Championships, (in NY along with the NPC TEAM UNIVERSE), all receive their IFBB pro cards
JUDGING PROCEDURES:

ROUND 1/SWIMSUIT
The contestants will be brought outin 1 or 2 lines for the quarter turns in a 2-PIECE SWIMSUIT. (Do not twist-look straight ahead.)The judges will be scoring the physique by assessing overall muscle tonewith shapely lines, overall firmness and a small degree of muscularitywith separation, no visible striations and no excessive leanness along with a full general assessment including healthy appearance, face, makeup and skin tone.

ROUND 2/ FITNESS
Each athlete will perform a maximum 2 minute routine. Judges will be looking for strength and flexibility moves, style, personality and overall presentation and showmanship. Strengthand flexibility moves will be judged on the number, degree of difficulty and the creativity in performing the moves. Contestants should give special attentionto their apparel since it too will be judged. Routines may include aerobics,dance gymnastics or other demonstrations of athletic talent and strength--there are no required moves except at the national events, but are strongly recommended. Props are allowed but must be approved by promoter in advance.

ROUND 3/FINAL ASSESSMENT

The Athlete will be brought back outin their original line in a 1-PIECE SWIMSUIT. At this time judgesmay ask for certain contestants to be placed next to other contestants.Then the quarter turns will be directed so the judges can make any finalcomparisons they wish.
SCORING
Each round is judged separately, andscores are turned in after each round.
EVENING PERFORMANCE
All contestants will be introducedat the evening event in their swimsuits. All athletes will perform theirfitness routine at the evening finals.

*NOTE:  2004 COLORADO STATE WOMEN'S FIGURE CHAMPIONSHIPS----Rules are the same as Women's Fitness minus "ROUND 2/FITNESS."
