ELIGIBILITY: Open to any COLORADO NPC athlete. (2009 NPC cards will be available for $85.) Teenage competitors must not have exceeded 19 years of age the day of the contest.Masters competitors must have reached he age of 35/40/45/50 the day of the contest.Proof of age required. Novice competitors are eligible only if they have never placed 1st-3rd in an open class or 1^st place Novice Division in any NPC sanctioned national qualifier event. Contestants may enter more than one division, however, athletes will only pose once at the evening competition. To be eligible to compete in this contest, you MUST provide proof of COLORADO residency for FOUR(4) MONTHS----Bring a PHONE, UTILITY, OR INSURANCE BILL IF WE NEED TO SEE ANOTHER PROOF OF RESIDENCY BESIDES DRIVERS LICENSE.

AWARDS: Men's/Women's Open: 1st-5th in each weight class. Teenage, Novice and Masters, Men's Masters 35-40, 40-45, 45-50, 50-60, 60 and over: 1^st -5th one class each. (Novice class must have a minimum of 3 entrants in each class by June 15 or number of classes reduced.) A Team Trophy will be awarded to the highest scoring team. ($25 fee per team is required.) Overall Men's and Women's Bodybuilding Champions receive Josten's 10K Gold State Champion Ring!

RULES: This contest is NPC sanctioned and will run in accordance with the most recent NPC rules and procedures. All decisions are final. All bodybuilding competitors must weigh-in wearing their posing suit.
MUSIC: Contestants will use their own music WITH NO VULGARITY for the finals, prerecorded on a quality CD--ONLY A CD-R WITH 60 SEC. POSING SONG CUSTOM BURNED ONLY and CUED TO YOUR STARTING POINT. BRING CD TO SATURDAY 10.00 A.M. CHECK-IN! Time Limit: 60 sec.
BACKSTAGE: ONE ASSISTANT/TRAINER WILL BE ALLOWED BACKSTAGE per COMPETITOR for $40 TRAINER PASS WITH PROOF OF PURCHASE OF MORNING & EVENING SHOW TICKETS. LIMITED NUMBER OF BACKSTAGE PASSES AVAILABLE. Assistance will be also be provided.

GENERAL CONTEST INFORMATION

Each contestant must be a current memberof the NPC, (2009 NPC cards will be available for $85)
Each contestant must be a Colorado resident and provide proof of COLORADO residency for FOUR(4) months---Bring a PHONE, UTILITY, OR INSURANCE BILL IF WE NEED TO SEE ANOTHER PROOF OF RESIDENCY BESIDES DRIVERS LICENSE.
Entry Fee: NEW LATE FEES---SEND IN YOUR ENTRY EARLY!! $75 per class if postmarked by July 1st, 2009. $115 per class for entries postmarked after July 1st, 2009. (Complete the entry form BELOW.)
Overall Fitness, Open Figure, and BIKINI winners receive Josten's 10k Gold, NPC CO State Champion Rings!
Contestants must wear high heels in the swimsuit rounds and tennis/athletic shoes in the fitness round. Jewelry may be worn in the swimsuit rounds.
Thong swimsuits will not be allowed. Tights must be worn under thong in fitness round. MUST BRING SUITS TO FRIDAY CHECK-IN.
Exhibition of poor sportsmanship will be grounds for automatic disqualification.
Due to limited backstage area and competitor safety, ONE assistant/ trainer will be permitted backstage with $40 TRAINER PASS with proof of purchase of morning and evening show tickets . LIMITED NUMBER OF BACKSTAGE PASSES AVAILABLE.
Fitness contestants must be able to carry their own props to and from the stage.
FITNESS/FIGURE/BIKINI Contestant check-in: FRIDAY 6-8 P.M. AT THE HOST HOTEL-Holiday Inn/Lakewood --BRING YOUR SUIT FOR INSPECTION. Saturday meeting at the Teikyo Loretto Heights University Theater: 8:00a.m., Prejudging begins at 9:00a.m.

PUBLICITY AND AWARDS:
FITNESS---The top 5 winners in each of the two height classes for FITNESS, ( 5'4" and under, and over 5'4"),

OPEN FIGURE---The top 5 winners in each of the six height classses for OPEN FIGURE , (5'1" and under, over 5'1" - 5'-2-1/2", over 5'2-1/2" - 5'4", over 5'4" -5'5-1/2", over 5'5-1/2"-5'7", and over 5'7"),

BIKINI*---The top 5 winners in each of the three height classes for BIKINI, (5'4" and under, over 5'4" - 5'6", and over 5'6"),

will be nationally qualified to go to the Jr.USA & Team Universe Figure, and top 5 in each class will receive Neils AndersonFitness/Figure Sculptures.
*All BIKINI competitors in this show are nationally qualified for 2009, and are
eligible to compete for 22 IFBB pro cards awarded in 2009 at the pro qualifier NPC national contests!

The top 3 in both Open Figure and Fitness are nationally qualified to go to NPC Jr.Nationals, NPC Figure/Fitness Nationals in NY, NY and NPC USA. No money prizes may be given at the amateur level.(Competing for cash prizes nullifies amateur status in the NPC.) The top 6 FITNESS contestants, ( 2 in each of the 3 height classes), at the NPC Nationals in Nov., and the classwinners at the Team Universe will be eligible to turn professional in the IFBB. The winner of Nationals will be invited to compete at the FitnessMs. Olympia Contest. FIGURE: Jr.USA overall winners, Class winners at the Jr.Nationals and top 3 in each of the four height classes at the National FIGURE Championships, (in NY along with the NPC TEAM UNIVERSE), and class winners at the USA in Las Vegas, all receive their IFBB pro cards
JUDGING PROCEDURES:
ROUND 1/SWIMSUIT
The contestants will be brought outin 1 or 2 lines for the quarter turns in a 2-PIECE SWIMSUIT. (Do not twist-look straight ahead.)The judges will be scoring the physique by assessing overall muscle tonewith shapely lines, overall firmness and a small degree of muscularitywith separation, no visible striations and no excessive leanness along with a full general assessment including healthy appearance, face, makeup and skin tone.

ROUND 2/ FITNESS
Each athlete will perform a maximum 2 minute routine. Judges will be looking for strength and flexibility moves, style, personality and overall presentation and showmanship. Strengthand flexibility moves will be judged on the number, degree of difficulty and the creativity in performing the moves. Contestants should give special attentionto their apparel since it too will be judged. Routines may include aerobics,dance gymnastics or other demonstrations of athletic talent and strength--there are no required moves except at the national events, but are strongly recommended. Props are allowed but must be approved by promoter in advance.

SCORING
Each round is judged separately, andscores are turned in after each round.

EVENING PERFORMANCE
All contestants will be introducedat the evening event in their swimsuits. All athletes will perform theirfitness routine at the evening finals.

*NOTE: 2009 COLORADO STATE WOMEN'S FIGURE CHAMPIONSHIPS----Rules are the same as Women's Fitness minus "ROUND 2/FITNESS."

DETAILS FOR COLORADO STATE
WOMEN'S FIGURE NOVICE CHAMPIONSHIPS:
Novice competitors are eligible only if they have never placed 1st-3rd in any NPC sanctioned FIGURE event. Three, (3), Novice height classes: 5'4" and under, over 5'4" - 5'6", and over 5'6".

SPECIFIC INFORMATION ABOUT NEW BIKINI DIVISION:

NO crossover into Bodybuilding, Fitness or Figure.
Competitors will compete in a two-piece suit like Figure and Fitness. The bottom of the suit must be v-shaped. No thongs are permitted. Competitors can compete in an off-the-rack suit. All swimsuits must be in good taste. Swimsuit will be inspected at Athlete Check-In
Competitors must wear high heels.
Competitors may wear jewelry.

BIKINI JUDGING PROCEDURES:

Presentation

Competitors will walk onstage alone and perform their Model Walk (personal preference)

The Model Walk consists of the following: Walk to the center of the stage, stop and do a front stance then a full turn and do a rear stance then turn to the front again in front of the judges and then proceed to the side of the stage.

Comparison Round, Two-Piece Swimsuit

Competitors will be judged wearing a two-piece swimsuit and heels.
The competitors will be brought out in a group and directed to do a full front and rear stance.
Judges will have the opportunity to compare competitors against each other in half turns. (No side judging permitted, front and back only.)
Judges will be scoring competitors on the following items:
- Balance and Shape
- Overall physical appearance including complexion, skin tone, poise and overall presentation.
