RULES: This contest
is NPC sanctioned and will run in accordance with the most
recent NPC rules and procedures. All decisions are final.
All bodybuilding competitors must weigh-in wearing their posing
suit. MEN'S
PHYSIQUE CONTEST INFORMATION: NEW!! * MUSCULARITY &
BODY CONDITION: Judges will be
looking for fit contestants who display proper shape
and symmetry combined with muscularity and overall condition. This is
not a bodybuilding contest so extreme muscularity should be marked down.
* STAGE
PRESENCE & PERSONALITY: Contestants will be
asked to walk in board shorts (shorts must be just above the knee in
length and can be one inch below the belly button, no spandex and no logos are permitted on the
board shorts however a manufacturer’s logo such as Nike symbol or
Billabongs are acceptable.) Competitors will enter the stage without a
shirt and barefoot. No lewd acts allowed for example the moon pose.
Judges are looking for the contestant with the best stage presence and
poise who can successfully convey his personality to the audience. COMPETITION JUDGING- *
PRESENTATION: Competitors will walk
to the center of the stage alone and perform quarter (1/4) turns with optional pose of hand
on hip or hand in pocket, face the judges as
directed then proceed to the side of the stage.
* COMPARISION ROUND: The competitors will
be brought back out in a group and directed to do quarter turns. The Judges will have
the opportunity to compare competitors against each other in quarter
turns. * CROSSOVERS: Crossovers are
allowed at NPC shows in CO this year, but not at the NPC national level. * NPC NATIONAL LEVEL CONTESTS: Competitors that place in the top five (5) in each class at national qualifying contests will have a one year qualification for national level events. Note: For 2011 a place in the top five (5) of any Men’s Physique contest will qualify you for national level contests.* QUALIFYING FOR IFBB PRO STATUS: JUNIOR USA CHAMPIONSHIPS – Top 2 placers in the overall comparison, JUNIOR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS – Top 4 placers in the overall comparison, TEAM UNIVERSE – Height class winners, USA CHAMPIONSHIPS – Height class winners, IFBB NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIPS – Top 2 placers in the overall comparison, NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS – Height class winners earn IFBB Pro Cards. FITNESS---The top 5 winners in each of the two height classes for FITNESS, ( 5'4" and under, and over 5'4"), OPEN FIGURE---The top 5 winners in each of the six height classses for OPEN FIGURE , (5'1" and under, over 5'1" - 5'-2-1/2", over 5'2-1/2" - 5'4", over 5'4" -5'5-1/2", over 5'5-1/2"-5'7", and over 5'7"), FIGURE 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50+, top 5, NOVICE FIGURE*---The top 5 winners in each of the three height classes for NOVICE FIGURE, (5'4" and under, over 5'4" - 5'6", and over 5'6"), OPEN BIKINI---The top 5 winners in each of the six height classses for OPEN FIGURE , (5'1" and under, over 5'1" - 5'-2-1/2", over 5'2-1/2" - 5'4", over 5'4" -5'5-1/2", over 5'5-1/2"-5'7", and over 5'7"), BIKINI 35-39, BIKINI over 40, NOVICE BIKINI---The top 5 winners in each of the three height classes for NOVICE BIKINI, (5'4" and under, over 5'4" - 5'6", and over 5'6"), will receive Neils AndersonFitness/Figure Sculptures. And the top 5 winners in each of the 6 height classes in OPEN FIGURE, 2 FITNESS, and 4 BIKINI classes will be nationally qualified to go to the Jr.USA & Team Universe Figure, and top 5 in each class. Further, the top 3 in both Open Figure, Fitness and Bikini are nationally qualified to go to NPC Jr.Nationals, NPC Figure/Fitness Nationals in NY, NY and NPC USA. No money prizes may be given at the amateur level.(Competing for cash prizes nullifies amateur status in the NPC.) The top 6 FITNESS contestants, ( 2 in each of the 3 height classes), at the NPC Nationals in Nov., and the classwinners at the Team Universe will be eligible to turn professional in the IFBB. The winner of Nationals will be invited to compete at the FitnessMs. Olympia Contest. FIGURE: Jr.USA overall winners, Class winners at the Jr.Nationals and top 3 in each of the four height classes at the National FIGURE Championships, (in NY along with the NPC TEAM UNIVERSE), and class winners at the USA in Las Vegas, all receive their IFBB pro cards JUDGING PROCEDURES: ROUND 1/SWIMSUIT The contestants will be brought outin 1 or 2 lines for the quarter turns in a 2-PIECE SWIMSUIT. (Do not twist-look straight ahead.)The judges will be scoring the physique by assessing overall muscle tonewith shapely lines, overall firmness and a small degree of muscularitywith separation, no visible striations and no excessive leanness along with a full general assessment including healthy appearance, face, makeup and skin tone. ROUND 2/ FITNESS Each athlete will perform a maximum 2 minute routine. Judges will be looking for strength and flexibility moves, style, personality and overall presentation and showmanship. Strengthand flexibility moves will be judged on the number, degree of difficulty and the creativity in performing the moves. Contestants should give special attentionto their apparel since it too will be judged. Routines may include aerobics,dance gymnastics or other demonstrations of athletic talent and strength--there are no required moves except at the national events, but are strongly recommended. Props are allowed but must be approved by promoter in advance. SCORING Each round is judged separately, andscores are turned in after each round. EVENING PERFORMANCE All contestants will be introducedat the evening event in their swimsuits. All athletes will perform theirfitness routine at the evening finals. *NOTE: 2011 COLORADO STATE WOMEN'S FIGURE CHAMPIONSHIPS----Rules are the same as Women's Fitness minus "ROUND 2/FITNESS." *DETAILS FOR COLORADO STATE WOMEN'S FIGURE NOVICE CHAMPIONSHIPS: Novice competitors are eligible only if they have never placed 1st-3rd in any NPC sanctioned FIGURE event.
