ELIGIBILITY: Open to NPC NOVICE and MASTERS athletes. (2013 NPC cards will be available for $100.) Teenage competitors:minimum age of 16 and must not have exceeded 19 years of age the day of the contest. Masters competitors must have reached he age of 35/40/50 the day of the contest.Proof of age required. Novice competitors are eligible only if they have never placed 1st-3rd in an open class or 1 st place Novice Division in any NPC event. Contestants may enter more than one division, however, athletes will only pose once at the evening competition. (Bikini may only cross over to other Bikini divisions.)  

NEW "GRIT & COURAGE" CLASS DETAILS:  One class top 5 (must include before and after pics plus short story by Feb. 25th. Judges looking for most inspirational transformation) NO ENTRY FEE FOR THIS CLASS.

AWARDS:  Men's/Women's Open: 1st-5th in each class. Teenage, Novice and Masters: 1st -5th one class each.  A Team Trophy will be awarded to the highest scoring team. ($30 fee per team is required.) Overall Men's and Women's Champions receive an OVERALL award.

RULES: This contest is NPC sanctioned and will run in accordance with the most recent NPC rules and procedures. All decisions are final.  All bodybuilding competitors must weigh-in wearing their posing suit.
MUSIC: Contestants will use their own music WITH NO VULGARITY for the finals, prerecorded on a quality CD--ONLY A CD-R WITH 60 SEC. POSING SONG CUSTOM BURNED ONLY and CUED TO YOUR STARTING POINT. BRING CD TO SUNDAY, 9:30 A.M. CHECK-IN! Time Limit: 60 sec. 
BACKSTAGE:  
NEW!  Due to limited backstage area at the RIVER POINT Event Center, and for the competitors safety, only a limited number of assistants/ trainers will be permitted backstage and they must be an NPC member due to insurance requirements(Purchase NPC Card here.) Trainer may purchase  a Backstage Trainer Pass for $65.  The $65 Backstage Trainer Pass includes a Prejudging ticket, but Evening Finals ticket must be purchased separately. Only 1 Trainer per competitor. (Competitors do not need a ticket)  Assistance will be also be provided.
Please be advised: A Backstage Trainer Pass does not allow trainers to impede flow of the event backstage.  Trainers must cooperate with event expeditors or Backstage Trainer Pass will be revoked.

WOMEN'S PHYSIQUE CONTEST INFORMATION:
Women's Physique Division has been created to give a platform for women who enjoy weight training, competing and contest preparation.  Competitors should display a toned, athletic physique showcasing femininity, muscle tone and beauty/flow of physique.

JUDGING CRITERIA-

    *   
MUSCULARITY & BODY CONDITION: Judges will be looking for contestants who display Symmetry, Shape, Proportion, Muscle Tone, Poise and Beauty Flow. Physique should display all of the above criteria without compromising Femininity, Beauty/Flow of Physique.  Physique assessment and comparisons will take place during Prejudging.
         Women's Physique competitors should have the overall aesthetics and look that is found in figure with a little more overall muscularity.  While all types of physiques will be considered when it comes to height, weight, structure, etc., excessive muscularity will be scored down accordingly.

COMPETITION JUDGING-

    *   PREJUDGING: Quarter turns and mandatory posing comparisons/callouts. 
        Mandatory Poses will be performed in good taste with open hand style and    
        include the following poses:
             - Front double biceps/open hands (no flat footed full front pose-some sort of
                  front twisting pose)

             - Back Double biceps/open hands
             - Side tricep with leg extended
             - Side chest with arms extended
             - Front ab/thigh

    *   FINALS:  All competitors will perform their individual posing routine to music.
             In Colorado, individual routines are 60 seconds in length.
Contestants will               use their own music WITH NO VULGARITY for the finals, prerecorded on a              quality CD--ONLY A CD-R WITH 60 SEC. POSING SONG CUSTOM                      BURNED ONLY and CUED TO STARTING POINT. Contestant must bring
             CD to
    *   RULES: Suits worn by WP competitors for Prejudging must be a 2 piece. Suits             do not have to be solid in color. The bottom of the suit must be v-shaped.                 No thongs are permitted. Competitors can compete in an off the rack suit.                 All suits must be in good taste.
           -No Props will be allowed.
           -No heels may be worn at any time during the competition/judging of WP.

    *     1 NOVICE HEIGHT CLASS, 3 OPEN HEIGHT CLASSES & 40+ CLASS                  AT  THIS EVENT.
          
A Class- Up to and including 5"4"
           B Class- Over 5'4" up to and including 5'6"
           C Class- Over 5'6"

CROSSOVERS, NATIONAL SHOWS, IFBB PRO CARDS-

    *   CROSSOVERS: Crossovers are allowed at NPC shows in CO this year, but not at the NPC national level.

MEN'S PHYSIQUE CONTEST INFORMATION:
JUDGING CRITERIA-

    *   MUSCULARITY & BODY CONDITION: Judges will be looking for fit     contestants who display proper shape and symmetry combined with muscularity and overall condition. This is not a bodybuilding contest so extreme muscularity should be marked down.

    *   STAGE PRESENCE & PERSONALITY:  Contestants will be asked to walk in board shorts (shorts must be just above the knee in length and can be one inch below the belly button, no spandex and no logos are permitted on the board shorts however a manufacturer’s logo such as Nike symbol or Billabongs are acceptable.) Competitors will enter the stage without a shirt and barefoot. No lewd acts allowed for example the moon pose. Judges are looking for the contestant with the best stage presence and poise who can successfully convey his personality to the audience.

COMPETITION JUDGING-

     PRESENTATION: Competitors will walk to the center of the stage alone and perform quarter (1/4) turns with optional pose of hand on hip or hand in pocket, face the judges as directed then proceed to the side of the stage.

    *   COMPARISION ROUND: The competitors will be brought back out in a group and directed to do quarter turns. The Judges will have the opportunity to compare competitors against each other in quarter turns.

CROSSOVERS, NATIONAL SHOWS, IFBB PRO CARDS-

    *   CROSSOVERS: Crossovers are allowed at NPC shows in CO this year, but not at the NPC national level.

ENTRY FEE(S):
$65 to enter Men's Physique Novice and $65 to enter Men's Physique 35-42, 42+ and $65 to enter Men's Physique TEEN if postmarked by Feb. 25, 2013.  Entries postmarked after Feb. 25, 2013, $105 per class.  Men's Physique competitors may applicable classes and crossover to Men's Bodybuilding.

WOMEN'S FIGURE & BIKINI CONTEST INFORMATION

GENERAL CONTEST INFORMATION

  • Each contestant must be a current memberof the NPC, (2013 NPC cards will be available for $100)
  • Entry Fee: $65 per class if paid by Feb. 25, 2013. $105 per class for entry fees paid after Feb. 25, 2013. NEW: Additional $25 wall-in fee for 'Day Of CheckIn' walk-in entries on March 9, 2013.
  • Overall Novice Figure and Overall Novice BIKINI winners receive an OVERALL Award.
  • Contestants must wear high heels in the swimsuit rounds. Jewelry may be worn in the swimsuit rounds.
  • All contestants must bring all suits to be worn in competition to the               Contestant Check-In for suit inspection by a show official. BIKINI          compeititors must check in WEARING BIKINI SUIT to be in compliance with the rule, "The bottom should be in good taste covering about 50% of the gluteal area."   If Bikini athlete has any questions they should bring a second suit with a more modest bottom.
  • Exhibition of poor sportsmanship will be grounds for automatic disqualification.

NOVICE BIKINI---The top 5 winners in each of the four height classes for BIKINI,
(5'2" and under, over 5'2" - 5'4", over 5'4" - 5'6", and over 5'6"),

MASTERS BIKINI  35-40, 40+

OPEN BIKINI---The top 5 winners in each of the three height classes for OPEN BIKINI, (5'4" and under, over 5'4" - 5'6", and over 5'6")

will receive Neils AndersonFitness/Figure plaques and medallions and overall winners sculptures.  And the top 5 winners in each of the 6 height classes in OPEN FIGURE, 2 FITNESS, and 4 BIKINI classes will be nationally qualified to go to the Jr.USA & Team Universe Figure, and top 5 in each class. Further, the top 3 in both Open Figure, Fitness and Bikini are nationally qualified to go to NPC Jr.Nationals, NPC Figure/Fitness Nationals in NY, NY and NPC USA.  No money prizes may be given at the amateur level.(Competing for cash prizes nullifies amateur status in the NPC.) The top 6 FITNESS contestants, ( 2 in each of the 3 height classes),  at the NPC Nationals in Nov., and the classwinners at the Team Universe will be eligible to turn professional in the IFBB.
FIGURE:  Jr.USA overall winners, Class winners at the Jr.Nationals and top 2 in each of the four height classes at the National FIGURE Championships,
(in NY along with the NPC TEAM UNIVERSE), and class winners at the USA in Las Vegas, all receive their IFBB pro cards
JUDGING PROCEDURES:

SWIMSUIT
The contestants will be brought outin 1 or 2 lines for the quarter turns in a 2-PIECE SWIMSUIT. (Do not twist-look straight ahead.)The judges will be scoring the physique by assessing overall muscle tonewith shapely lines, overall firmness and a small degree of muscularitywith separation, no visible striations and no excessive leanness along with a full general assessment including healthy appearance, face, makeup and skin tone.


SCORING
Each round is judged separately, andscores are turned in after each round.

EVENING PERFORMANCE

All contestants will be introducedat the evening event in their swimsuits. All athletes will perform theirfitness routine at the evening finals.

*DETAILS FOR WOMEN'S FIGURE NOVICE CHAMPIONSHIPS:

ovice competitors are eligible only if they have never placed 1st-3rd in any NPC sanctioned OPEN FIGURE class or won a Novice Figure class. 

*SPECIFIC INFORMATION ABOUT BIKINI DIVISION:

  • NO crossover into Women's Physique or Figure.
  • Competitors will compete in a two-piece suit like Figure and Fitness. The bottom of the suit must be v-shaped. No thongs are permitted. Competitors can compete in an off-the-rack suit. All swimsuits must be in good taste. Swimsuit will be inspected at Athlete Check-In. All contestants must bring all suits to be worn in competition to the Contestant Check-In for suit inspection by a show official. BIKINI JUDGING PROCEDURES:

Presentation

  • Competitors will walk onstage alone and perform their Model Walk (personal preference)
    • The Model Walk consists of the following:                                           Walk to the center of the stage, stop and do a front stance then a full turn and do a rear stance, (NEW!-Rear stance pose to be done in good taste-keep feet no more than 24 inches apart and no bending forward), then turn to the front again in front of the judges and then proceed to the side of the stage.

Comparison Round, Two-Piece Swimsuit

  • Competitors will be judged wearing a two-piece swimsuit and heels.
  • The competitors will be brought out in a group and directed to do a full front and rear stance. (NEW! -Rear stance pose to be done in good taste-keep feet no more than 24 inches apart and no bending forward.)
  • Judges will have the opportunity to compare competitors against each other in half turns. (No side judging permitted, front and back only.)
  • Judges will be scoring competitors on the following items:
    • Balance and Shape
    • Overall physical appearance including complexion, skin tone, poise and overall presentation.
