Prejudging begins at 9:30 am, Evening

Eligibility:
Open
to any NPC athlete that is in good standing.
Must have 2005 NPC Card. (2005
NPC cards will be available at check-in/weight-in August 12, 2005 for
$70.00)
Teen, Masters competitors must have reached the age
of the categories
listed below on the day of contest.
(Proof of age is required) Novice
competitors are eligible only if they have never placed 1st-3rd
in open class or 1st place Novice Division in any NPC
sanctioned
event. Contestants may enter more than
one division, however, athletes will only pose once at the evening
competition. To be eligible to compete
in the New Mexico State
division, you MUST provide
proof of residency for at least 4 months prior to the contest.
Awards:
Men’s/Women’s
Open/Novice: 1st – 5th
in each weight class. Awards 1st – 5th in
Teenage, Masters, Men’s Masters 35-40,
40-45, 45 and over. Overall Men’s and
Women’s Open Mid-USA Bodybuilding and Fitness
& Figure Champions receive Overall Awards. New Mexico State overall Men’s
and
Women’s Open winners receive Overall Award.

Music: Contestants must bring their
music at weigh-in. Contestants
music will be used
only for the Finals, pre-recorded on a CD.
All music must be on a CD (no cassette
tapes) and must be clearly labeled with contestants name and specific
track. Time limit 60-90 seconds for
bodybuilding routine and 2 minutes for fitness routines.

&
FIGURE CHAMPIONSHIPS:
Each
contestant must be a current member of the NPC (2005 NPC cards will be
available for $70.00 at weigh-in/check-in meeting.)

per class entered if received by August 1, 2005. Additional $35.00 for entries mailed after August 1, 2005. Entries received after August 11, 2005
Additional Late Fee
Increases to $45.00. No entries accepted
after August 12, 2005. Please

Contestants
must wear high heels in the swimsuit rounds and tennis/athletic shoes
in the
fitness round. Jewelry may be worn in
the swimsuit rounds.
Thong
swimsuits will not be allowed. Tights
must be worn under thong in fitness round.
Exhibition
of poor sportsmanship will be grounds for automatic disqualification.
Due
to limited backstage area and for the competitors safety, only one
assistant or
trainer will be permitted backstage and they MUST purchase a Special
backstage
pass. (See DETAILS and PRICING BELOW. Fitness contestants must be able to carry
their own props to and from the stage.
Contestant check in: 8:30 am, Prejudging begins at 9:30 am.
Judging Procedures:
Round
1/ Swimsuit
The
contestants will be brought out in line for the quarter turns. (do not twist – look straight ahead.) The judges will be scoring the physique by
assessing overall muscle tone with shapely lines, overall firmness and
a small
degree of muscularity with separation, no visible striations and no
excessive
leanness along with a full general assessment including healthy
appearance,
face, makeup and skin tone.
Round
2/ Fitness
Each athlete will perform a maximum 2 minute
routine. Judges will be looking for
strength and flexibility moves, style, personality and overall
presentation and
showmanship. Strength and flexibility
moves will be judged on the number, degree of difficulty and the
creativity in
performing the moves. Contestants should
give special attention their apparel since it too will be judged. Routines may include aerobics, dance,
gymnastics or other demonstration of athletic talent and strength-
there are no
required moves except at the national events, but are strongly
recommended. Props are allowed but must
be approved by promoter in advance.
Round
3/ Final Assessment
The
Athlete will be brought back out in their original line in a 1-piece
swimsuit. At this time judges may ask
certain contestants to be placed next to other contestants. Then the quarter turns will be directed.
Scoring:
Each
round is judged separately, and scores are tuned in after each round.
Evening
Performance:
All
contestants will be introduces at the evening event in their swimsuits. All athletes will perform their fitness
routine at the evening finals.
