ELIGIBILITY: This show is a National Qualifier open to any NPC athlete. (2011 NPC cards will be available for $100.) Teenage competitors must not have exceeded 19 years of age the day of the contest. Men's Masters competitors must have reached the age of 35,40,45 the day of the contest, Women's Masters BB must have reached the age of 35 the day of the contest.  Proof of age required. Novice competitors are eligible only if they have never placed 1st-3rd in an open class or 1st place Novice Division in any NPC sanctioned event. Novice Division I competitors are eligible only if they have NEVER COMPETED BEFORE. Contestants may enter more than one division, however, contestants will only pose once at the evening competition. 

AWARDS:  Men's/Women's Open: 1st-5th in each weight class.  Teenage, Novice Division I and Masters: 1st-5th one class each. Novice, Drug Free for Life 1st-3rd in each weight class. (Novice class must have a minimum of 3 entrants prior to May 21st, or number of classes reduced.) A Team Trophy will be awarded to the highest scoring team. ($30 fee per team is required.) Overall Men's and Women's Champions receive an Overall award.

TESTING PROCEDURE: As a condition of acceptance into this event, each contestant must pass a thorough 45-minute polygraph examination proving that he/she has not engaged in the use of anabolic steroids, clenbutero, or synthol at any time during the preceding 24 calendar months, or for competitor's entire life if entered in the Drug Free for Life Class. (The previous 6 months is the time frame for non-over-the counter diuretics), Upon receipt of entry form and fee, the contestant will be notified where to go in Denver or Colorado Springs for polygraph testing. The testing center will attempt to accommodate each contestant's schedule. No doctor's notes accepted. There will not be any additional charge to the contestant for the test.
Please be advised: Polygraph testing schedules are likely to be inconvenient for most competitors but it is the only way that ALL bodybuilders can be tested prior to the event.  This is the best way to create a level playing field for bodybuilders instead of random testing on the day of the show, or after the show. Thank you for your understanding.  This has been what has made NPC Natural Events in Colorado some of the best in the USA!

RULES : This contest is NPC sanctioned and will run in accordance with the most recent NPC rules and procedures. All decisions are final. MUSIC: Contestants will use their own music for the finals, on a custom burned CD with only 60 sec. of posing song on the CD.  BRING CD TO CHECK-IN. Time Limit: 60 sec.  All bodybuilding competitors to be weighed-in wearing their posing suit, all Figure competitors must bring their suits for inspection and all Bikini competitors must measure in wearing bikini to be in compliance with new rule--see below.

BACKSTAGE: Due to limited backstage area at the Englewood High Auditorium, and for the competitors safety, only a limited number of assistants/ trainers will be permitted backstage.  They may purchase  a Backstage Trainer Pass for $75.  The $75 Backstage Trainer Pass includes a Prejudging ticket, but Evening Finals ticket must be purchased separately. Only 1 Trainer per competitor. (Competitors do not need a ticket).
Please be advised: A Backstage Trainer Pass does not allow trainers to impede flow of the event backstage.  Trainers must cooperate with event expeditors or Backstage Trainer Pass will be revoked.

SCHEDULE : Check-in/ Weigh-in for BODYBUILDERS will be FRIDAY, 7:00 - 8:00 pm, at the Host Hotel-Holiday Inn/Lakewood, with an 8:00pm FRIDAY meeting for BODYBUILDERS only.  Prejudging begins SATURDAY at 8:30am for Figure/Fitness/Bikini at Englewood High Auditorium with a 10:00 am meeting for BODYBUILDERS/PHYSIQUE COMPETITORS to exchange CD for competitor number. Saturday Evening check-in will be at 4:00 pm, and the evening presentation begins at 5pm.

ENTRY FEES Entries postmarked prior to May 15th, 2011, $95 for the first class entered, $40 for each additional class. Entries postmarked after May 15th, 2011, $135 for the first class entered, $40 for each additional class. NO BODYBUILDING ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER June 1st. NO REFUNDS. NO EXCEPTIONS. MEN'S PHYSIQUE CONTEST INFORMATION: NEW!!
JUDGING CRITERIA-

    *   MUSCULARITY & BODY CONDITION: Judges will be looking for fit     contestants who display proper shape and symmetry combined with muscularity and overall condition. This is not a bodybuilding contest so extreme muscularity should be marked down.

    *   STAGE PRESENCE & PERSONALITY:  Contestants will be asked to walk in board shorts (shorts must be just above the knee in length and can be one inch below the belly button, no spandex and no logos are permitted on the board shorts however a manufacturer’s logo such as Nike symbol or Billabongs are acceptable.) Competitors will enter the stage without a shirt and barefoot. No lewd acts allowed for example the moon pose. Judges are looking for the contestant with the best stage presence and poise who can successfully convey his personality to the audience.

COMPETITION JUDGING-

     PRESENTATION: Competitors will walk to the center of the stage alone and perform quarter (1/4) turns with optional pose of hand on hip or hand in pocket, face the judges as directed then proceed to the side of the stage.

    *   COMPARISION ROUND: The competitors will be brought back out in a group and directed to do quarter turns. The Judges will have the opportunity to compare competitors against each other in quarter turns.

CROSSOVERS, NATIONAL SHOWS, IFBB PRO CARDS-

    *   CROSSOVERS: Crossovers are allowed at NPC shows in CO this year, but not at the NPC national level.

    *   NPC NATIONAL LEVEL CONTESTS:  Competitors that place in the top five (5) in each class at national qualifying contests will have a one year qualification for national level events.

Note: For 2011 a place in the top five (5) of any Men’s Physique contest will qualify you for national level contests.
    *   QUALIFYING FOR IFBB PRO STATUS: JUNIOR USA CHAMPIONSHIPS – Top 2 placers in the overall comparison, JUNIOR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS – Top 4 placers in the overall comparison, TEAM UNIVERSE  – Height class winners, USA CHAMPIONSHIPS – Height class winners, IFBB NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIPS – Top 2 placers in the overall comparison, NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS – Height class winners earn IFBB Pro Cards.

WOMEN'S  FIGURE*, FITNESS & BIKINI CHAMPIONSHIPS

GENERAL CONTEST INFORMATION

  • This show is a National Qualifier.
  • Each contestant must be a current member of the NPC, (2011 NPC cards will be available for $100)
  • Entry Fee: $75 per class entered if postmarked by May 15th, 2011. $115 per class entered for entries postmarked after May 15th, 2011. Figure entries will be accepted at the Friday, June 4th Check-In at the Host Hotel, Holiday Inn/Lakewood (Complete the entry form BELOW.) 
  • Bikini 35+ and Figure Over 40/45 contestants must have reached the ages of 35/40/45 by the day of the contest. Proof of age required.
  • Contestants must wear high heels in the swimsuit rounds  Jewelry may be worn in the swimsuit rounds.
  • Thong swimsuits will not be allowed.
  • All contestants must bring all suits to be worn in competition to the               Contestant Check-In for suit inspection by a show official. NEW: BIKINI          compeititors must check in WEARING BIKINI SUIT to be in compliance with the rule, "The bottom should be in good taste covering about 50% of the gluteal area."   If Bikini athlete has any questions they should bring a second suit with a more modest bottom.
  • Exhibition of poor sportsmanship will be grounds for automatic disqualification.
  • NEW- Due to limited backstage area at the Englewood High Auditorium, and for the competitors safety, only a limited number of assistants/ trainers will be permitted backstage.  They may purchase  a Backstage Trainer Pass for $75.  The $75 Backstage Trainer Pass includes a Prejudging ticket, but Evening Finals ticket must be purchased separately. (Early Check-In at 4:30.)  Prejudging Meeting on Saturday at 7:30 am and Prejudging begins Saturday at 8:30am at Englewood High Auditorium, Englewood, CO. (I block south of Hampden, 2 blocks east of Broadway.)

will receive Neils Anderson Figure Sculptures. The top 5 winners in each of the four height classses for OPEN FIGURE, one FITNESS class, and four OPEN BIKINI classes will be nationally qualified for Jr.USA and Team Universe FIgure, and the top 3 winners are eligible to compete at the NPC Jr.Nationals, NPC USA and NPC National Figure Championships in NY. No money prizes may be given at the amateur level. 

FITNESS & FIGURE JUDGING PROCEDURES:

ROUND 1/SWIMSUIT
The contestants will be brought out in 1 or 2 lines for the quarter turns in 2-PIECE SWIMSUIT. (Do not twist-look straight ahead.)The judges will be scoring the physique by assessing overall muscle tonewith shapely lines, overall firmness and a small degree of muscularity with separation, no visible striations and no excessive leanness along with a full general assessment including healthy appearance, face, makeup and skin tone.

ROUND 2/ FITNESS
Each FITNESS athlete will perform a maximum 2 minute routine. Judges will be looking for strength and flexibility moves, style, personality and overall presentation and showmanship. Strength and flexibility moves will be judged on the number, degree of difficulty and the creativity in performing the moves. Contestants should give special attention to their apparel since it too will be judged. Routines may include aerobics,dance gymnastics or other demonstrations of athletic talent and strength--there are no required moves except at the national events, but are strongly recommended. Props are allowed but must be approved by promoter in advance.
 

SCORING
Each round is judged separately, and scores are turned in after each round.

All contestants will be introduced at the evening event in their two-piece suits .

All contestants will be introduced at the evening event in their2 PIECE swimsuits. All athletes will perform theirfitness routine at the evening finals.

*NOTE2011 WOMEN'S FIGURE CHAMPIONSHIPS (OPEN, NOVICE & MASTERS FIGURE)----Rules are the same as Women's Fitness & Figure minus "ROUND 2/FITNESS" 

SPECIFIC INFORMATION ABOUT BIKINI DIVISION:

  • NO crossover into Bodybuilding, Fitness or Figure.
  • Competitors will compete in a two-piece suit like Figure and Fitness. The bottom of the suit must be v-shaped. No thongs are permitted. Competitors can compete in an off-the-rack suit. All swimsuits must be in good taste. Swimsuit will be inspected at Athlete Check-In. All contestants must bring all suits to be worn in competition to the Contestant Check-In for suit inspection by a show official. BIKINI compeititors must check in WEARING BIKINI SUIT to be in compliance with the rule, "The bottom should be in good taste covering about 50% of the gluteal area."   If Bikini athlete has any questions they should bring a second suit with a more modest bottom.
  • Competitors must wear high heels.
  • Competitors may wear jewelry.
BIKINI JUDGING PROCEDURES:

Presentation

  • Competitors will walk onstage alone and perform their Model Walk (personal preference) NEW! NOTE: Use good taste: No  sexual overtones/gestures.
    • The Model Walk consists of the following:                                           Walk to the center of the stage, stop and do a front stance then a full turn and do a rear stance, (NEW!-Rear stance pose to be done in good taste-keep feet no more than 24 inches apart and no bending forward), then turn to the front again in front of the judges and then proceed to the side of the stage.

Comparison Round, Two-Piece Swimsuit

  • Competitors will be judged wearing a two-piece swimsuit and heels.
  • The competitors will be brought out in a group and directed to do a full front and rear stance. (NEW! -Rear stance pose to be done in good taste-keep feet no more than 24 inches apart and no bending forward.)
  • Judges will have the opportunity to compare competitors against each other in half turns. (No side judging permitted, front and back only.)
  • Judges will be scoring competitors on the following items:
    • Balance and Shape
    • Overall physical appearance including complexion, skin tone, poise and overall presentation.
