ELIGIBILITY: Open to any NPC
athlete. (2004 NPC cards will be available for $60.) Teenage competitors
must not have exceeded 19 years of age the day of the contest.Masters
competitors must have reached he age of 35/40/45 the day of the
contest.Proof of age required. Novice competitors are eligible only
if they havenever placed 1st-3rd in an open class or 1 st place
Novice Divisionin any NPC sanctioned national qualifier event. Contestants
may enter morethan one division, however, athletes will only pose
once at the evening competition.
AWARDS: Men's/Women's Open:
1st-5th in each weight class. Teenage, Novice and Masters, Men's
Masters 35-40, 40 and over: 1st -5th one class each. A Team
Trophy will be awarded to the highest scoring team. ($20 fee per
team is required.) Overall Men's and Women's Champions receive an
Overall Award
WEIGHT CLASSES:
Men's Open: Lightwt. 154 1/4 and under, Middlewt. 154 1/4 -176 1/4,
Lt.Heavywt. 176 1/4 - 198 1/4, Heavywt. 198 1/4 and over.
Women's Open: Lightwt. 115 and under, Middlewt. 115-125, Lt.Heavywt.
125-140,
Heavywt. 140 and over.
Men's Novice: Lightwt. 165 1/4 and under, Middlewt. 165 1/4 -
187 1/4,
Heavywt. 187 1/4 and over.
RULES: This contest is NPC sanctioned
and will run in accordance with the most recent NPC rules and procedures.
All bodybuilding competitors will be weighed in wearing their posing
suit FRIDAY NIGHT--NO SATURDAY WEIGH-IN. All decisions are
final. NEW WOMEN'S POSES: FRONT AND BACK LAT SPREADS.
MUSIC: Contestants will use their own music for the finals,
prerecorded on a quality cassette tape and CUED TO YOUR STARTING
POINT. BRING TAPE TO CHECK-IN! IF A CD IS USED, IT MUST BE CUSTOM
BURNED WITH ONLY 60 SEC. POSING SONG ON CD. Time Limit: 60 sec.
ENTRY FEE: Entries postmarked prior to March 3, $40 per
division. Entries postmarked after March 3, $50per division. NO

WOMEN'S FITNESS & FIGURE* CHAMPIONSHIPS
GENERAL CONTEST INFORMATION
1. Each contestant must be a current memberof
the NPC, (2004 NPC cards will be available for $60) Entry
Fee: $40 if postmarked by March 3, 2004, $50 for entries mailed
after March 3, 2004. (Complete the entry form BELOW.)
2. Figure Over 30 contestants must have reached the
age of 30 by April 3, 2004. Proof of age required. Figure
Over 30 contestants may only compete in the Over
30 class; they may not cross over to compete in Figure height
classes.
3. Contestants must wear high heels in the swimsuit
rounds and tennis/athletic shoes in the fitness round.
4. Jewelry may be worn in the swimsuit rounds.
5. Thong swimsuits will not be allowed. Tights
must be worn under thong in fitness round.
6. Exhibition of poor sportsmanship willbe grounds
for automatic disqualification.
7. Due to limited backstage area and for the competitors
safety, only one assistant or trainer will be permitted backstage,
and they may pick up a backstage pass with purchase of tickets for
Prejudging and Evening Finals. (Competitors do not need a ticket)
8. Fitness contestants must be able to carry their
own props to and from the stage.
9. Contestant check-in: 6:00 pm FRIDAY NIGHT APRIL
2nd AT HOST HOTEL--Best Western Golden Buff, 28th & Canyon St.
Sat. Prejudging meeting at Boulder Theater at 8:30 a.m., Prejudging
begins at 10:00a.m., and Evening show at 6 p.m.
PUBLICITY AND AWARDS: The top
5 winners in each of the two height classes for FITNESS, ( 5'4"
and under, and over 5'4"), and the top 5 winners in each of the
FOUR height classses for FIGURE, (5'2" and under, over 5'2" - 5'4",
over 5'4" - 5'6", and over 5'6"), will receive Neils AndersonFitness/Figure
Sculptures. No money prizes may be given at the amateur level. (Competing
for cash prizes nullifies amateur statusin the NPC.) All of the
national events will be featured on FOXSports. The top 6 FITNESS
contestants, ( 2 in each of the 3 height classes), at the
USA and Nationals and the classwinners at the Team Universe will
be eligible to turn professional in the IFBB. The winner of Nationals
will be invited to compete at the Fitness Ms. Olympia Contest. FIGURE:
Overall Jr.USA winner, Class winners at the
Jr.Nationals and top 3 in each of the four height classes
at the National FIGURE Championships, (in NY along with the NPC
TEAM UNIVERSE), all receive their IFBB pro cards.
JUDGING PROCEDURES:
ROUND 1/SWIMSUIT
The contestants will be brought out in 1 or 2 lines for the quarter
turns in a 2-PIECE SWIMSUIT. (Do not twist-look straight ahead.)The
judges will be scoring the physique by assessing overall muscle
tone with shapely lines, overall firmness and a small degree of
muscularity with separation, no visible striations and no excessive
leanness along with a full general assessment including healthy
appearance, face, makeup and skin tone.
ROUND 2/ FITNESS
Each athlete will perform a maximum 2 minute routine. Judges will
be looking for strength and flexibility moves, style, personality
and overall presentation and showmanship. Strength and flexibility
moves will be judged on the number, degree of difficulty and the
creativity in performing the moves. Contestants should give special
attention to their apparel since it too will be judged. Routines
may include aerobics,dance gymnastics or other demonstrations of
athletic talent and strength--there are no required moves except
at the national events, but are strongly recommended. Props are
allowed but must be approved by promoter in advance.
ROUND 3/FINAL ASSESSMENT
The Athlete will be brought back outin their original line in a
1-PIECE SWIMSUIT. At this time judgesmay ask for certain contestants
to be placed next to other contestants.Then the quarter turns will
be directed so the judges can make any finalcomparisons they wish.
SCORING
Each round is judged separately, and scores are turned in after
each round.
EVENING PERFORMANCE
All contestants will be introducedat the evening event in their
swimsuits. All athletes will perform theirfitness routine at the
evening finals.
*NOTE: 2004 WOMEN'S FIGURE CHAMPIONSHIPS----Rules are the
same as Women's Fitness minus "ROUND 2/FITNESS" (May only
pick one class: Women's Figure OR Women's Figure Over 30)
